Financial Aid: International Students

Early Decision I deadline: Nov. 1

Early Decision II and Regular Decision deadline: Jan. 10

Bucknell enrolls students from all world regions and countries and from all types of socioeconomic backgrounds. Some of our international students receive financial support from their families and sponsors. Others rely on funds from Bucknell for part of their tuition, room and board.

Bucknell's international student comprehensive fee for the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters is $96,822.

This fee includes tuition, student activity fee, housing, meals, student health insurance, an estimated cost for books, supplies, course materials, equipment, personal expenses and estimated transportation costs.

A college education is an important investment in your future, but we understand that not every family has sufficient funding to attend Bucknell. We do offer some financial assistance to international students. This assistance, however, is limited and competitive.

International Student Financial Aid Application

In order to apply for aid:

  1. Students must submit the International Student Application for Financial Assistance (ISAFA). Please see the application link below. The ISAFA is free to submit.
  2. A certified original bank statement is also required to establish proof of financial support as required for the student visa process (see a sample bank statement here). If you are unable to supply a bank statement, you may submit a Financial Certification Document (FCD) instead.
  3. Due to yearly increases in tuition and fees, we recommend that students increase the amount of family support by an estimated 3.5% for each year of study.
  4. The CSS PROFILE is not required for international students, though students are welcome to submit it if they prefer.  However, please note that Bucknell is unable to provide CSS fee waivers.
  5. Tax documents and salary statements are not required at the time of application, though they may be requested later for verification purposes.

Even if you do not plan to apply for financial aid, you must:

  1. Complete and submit the Financial Certification Document or submit a certified original bank statement (see a sample bank statement here).
